Your Hosts for 2021

Welcome to WHTC 2021 together with f-cell+HFC “Digital Edition”. Although this year will take place online, our digital home will still be Montréal, Canada. So, be ready for heartfelt “Bienvenue!” as part of our multi-day, interactive event.

By working closely with academia and industry, we look to create a strong dual program of scientific and market content, while ensuring enhanced networking opportunities for our delegates, companies and organizations, and sponsors – an event by experts for experts.

More information about each of the head organizations is below.

We look forward to seeing you in June 2021!

International Association for Hydrogen Energy (IAHE)

"Under the auspices of"

IAHE is the leading global forum promoting the development of hydrogen energy and fuel cell technologies through its publications and sponsorship of international workshops, short courses and conferences. In addition, the Association endeavors to inform the general public of the important role of Hydrogen Energy as a permanent solution to global warming and urban pollution. In alternating years, the IAHE organizes the World Hydrogen Technologies Convention (WHTC) and World Hydrogen Energy Conference (WHEC) along with the national hydrogen association of each event’s host country.

Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (CHFCA)

"Co-Host"

The CHFCA is a collaborative effort of industry, academia, government agencies, financial organizations and other stakeholders focused on supporting the use of advanced hydrogen and fuel cell technologies and products to help tackle our world’s most critical energy challenges. With a 40-year legacy of industry expertise, the pioneering Canadian sector is considered a global leader in hydrogen and fuel cells. Since 2019, the CHFCA has hosted the annual f-cell+HFC The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Event in partnership with Peter Sauber Agentur. For more information, please visit chfca.ca & hyfcell.com. You can also follow CHFCA on Twitter at @PoweringNow.

Peter Sauber Agentur (PSA)

"Co-Host & Organizer"

PSA has been serving the international hydrogen and fuel cell community since 2001. In addition to creating Expert Events like f-cell Stuttgart and f-cell+HFC, which offer platforms for networking, knowledge and technology transfer and help set up new partnerships with the goal of moving the industry forward, PSA also organizes "Made in Germany" Pavilions at key international events to support German companies in successfully entering new markets, as well as acts as a Professional Conference Organizer for associations and government bodies to deliver benchmark events around the world, such as WHEC 2010, WHEC 2018 and EVS30. More information about can be found here: f-cell.de, hyfcell.com and messe-sauber.eu.

Advisor: Dr. Pierre Bénard

Director, Hydrogen Research Institute (HRI), Université du Québec à Trois Rivières (UQTR)

Dr. Bénard leads the HRI, which is dedicated to facilitating the use of hydrogen as an alternative energy. His research interests cover the theoretical and numerical study of microporous adsorbents for hydrogen storage and purification (from materials to system) and the study of hydrogen safety issues using computational fluid dynamics. Dr. Bénard is member of the Board of the Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association, and a member of Task 19 on Hydrogen Safety of the Hydrogen Implementing Agreement of the International Energy Agency.

Advisor: Dr. François Girard

Technical Leader, Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies, National Research Council Canada (NRC)

Dr. Girard supports NRC programs where hydrogen technologies play a role. Current projects include Quality Control for fuel cells and electrolysers components, development of international collaborations on specifications definition and measurement in support of industrialization of those technologies; as well as Data Analytics for Hydrogen Fueling Stations. Dr. Girard is the Vice Chair of the Board of the Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association, Canada's representative at Mission Innovation's Hydrogen Challenge, and Canada's delegate to the International Energy Agency's Technical Cooperation Program on Advanced Fuel Cells.
